SYRACUSE - Ricky S. "Rick" Garber, 50, of Sanford, Fla., and formerly of Nappanee and Goshen, died at 11:30 a.m. July 27, 2009, in his residence.
He was born April 18, 1959, in Goshen, to Eldon C. and Carol J. Balyeat Garber.
He graduated from Goshen High School. He lived most of his life in the Goshen and Nappanee areas before moving to Florida in 2007. He worked at Target Department Stores, Sanford, and formerly worked at Gulf Stream Coach, Nappanee, for 17 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Lauren Garber, Milford; his father, Eldon Garber, Nappanee; two brothers, Troy and Lane Garber, both of Goshen; a sister, Lynn Frye, Shipshewana; and a lifetime companion, Dawn Gainey, Sanford. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 7 at Greenwood Cemetery, Syracuse, with the Rev. Rob Nelson officiating.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
