SYRACUSE - Ricky Allen Westerman, 37, of Enterprise, Ala., and formerly of North Webster, died Dec. 31, 2009, from injuries suffered in a building fire in Enterprise.
He was born April 9, 1972, in Batesville, Ark., to Charles Richard and Carol Ann Chupp Westerman.
He graduated in 1991 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse. He grew up in the North Webster/Syracuse area and moved to Enterprise about a year ago from Georgia. He worked at Weatherly Plumbing Company, Enterprise, and formerly worked at Lucky's Tavern, North Webster. He was a member of North Webster American Legion Post 253. He was a U.S. Marine veteran.
Surviving are his mother, Carol (and lifetime partner Tom Bickel) Westerman, Syracuse; a brother, Andrew J. "A.J." (and fiancée Dawn Cox) Westerman, North Webster; grandparents, Andrew Chupp, Nappanee, and Pearl Avalos, Milford; fiancée, Amanda Daler, Enterprise; and two stepchildren, Austin and Cierra Daler, both of Enterprise. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition, with full military graveside rites by members of North Webster American Legion.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
