ANDERSON - Rickie Brian Moss, 52, of Anderson and Claypool, died at 12:38 a.m. Sept. 21, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, from a heart attack.
He was born July 13, 1955, in Anderson, to Leo and Joanne Moss, who preceded him in death. On May 19, 1979, he married the love of his life, Susan Thrasher, who survives. He told her everyday that he loved her.
He grew up in Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School in 1974. He worked in his family business all his life. For the last 20 years, he served as president of Moss Glass Co., working first with his parents and then his brother. He spent almost every weekend at his family's home at Diamond Lake, Claypool.
They sold Moss Glass in July 2006. He was a much-respected businessman in the area. For the past year, he lived his dream of moving to the lake and building a new home for himself and his wife.
Enjoying traveling, another of his dreams was to go to Alaska, which he and Susan did in August 2005. This was a special trip because his sister- and brother-in-law, Janel and Brian Poore, and several friends from church, traveled together. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior, Alexandria. He was baptized with his son on May 4, 1986. He was an organ donor.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Jamie Leigh) O'Dell, Anderson, and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie, who he adored; a son, Christopher Brian Moss, Claypool, who Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing with, and, when born, Rick called him his pride and joy; a brother, Ted, and his children Carmen (and her fiance Joe Smith), Anderson, and Kyle Moss; his mother-in-law, Esther Thrasher, Anderson, who he loved; brothers-in-law: James Thrasher, Anderson, and sons, Jonathan (and wife Melissa), Aaron and Cody; David (and wife Gail) Thrasher, Anderson, and children, Andrew, Anna, Emily and Joshua; and Guy (and wife Robin) Thrasher, and sons, Daniel (and fiance Katie Merritt) and Eric; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Brian (Janel) Poore, Anderson, who also was Rick's best friend since junior high school, and their children, Michael, Matthew and Jennifer (and fiance Brad Stephens); and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was very honored to be godfather to Michael Poore, Eric and Emily Thrasher, Jason Auler and Jessie Starr Brewer. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Thrasher Sr., and several other family members.
