NORTH WEBSTER - Rick E. Scaggs, 54, of Warsaw, died at 6 a.m. Oct. 16, 2010, in the Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
He was born Oct. 13, 1956, in Crawfordsville, to Robert and Shirley G. Meeker Scaggs. On Sept. 10, 1994, in Michigan City. he married Sonya L. Laycock, who survives.
He graduated in 1974 from Knox High School. He lived most of his life in the Warsaw area and formerly worked at Lake City Medical and Zimmer Corp., Warsaw.
Also surviving are a son, Rick Scaggs, (and fiancé Mindy McClure), Warsaw; his mother, Shirley Scaggs, Michigan City; two stepsons, David (and spouse Adeline) Cunningham and Michael Cunningham; four sisters: Karen (and spouse Doug) Small, Granger; Beth (and spouse Mark) Poehl, LaPorte; Kathy (and spouse Scott) Weber, Zionsville; and Deborah (and spouse Stephen) Schlang, Dubai; and two brothers, Michael (and spouse Kay) Scaggs, Weston, Fla., and Mark (and spouse Patty) Scaggs, Knox. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Private services will be at a later date.
No calling is planned.
