Richard S. Fernandes, 58, of Warsaw, died at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 1, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born May 24, 1953, in Kewanee, Ill., to Stanley Antonio and Carrie Delores Blodgett Fernandes. On Jan. 2, 1997, in Warsaw, he married Benita Castle, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army and formerly worked at Othy Inc., Warsaw. He was a 1972 graduate of Bremen Community School, Tinley Park, Ill., and attended United Pentecostal Church, Warsaw. He loved to fish, bowl and follow NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Also surviving are his foster mother, Geri Koden, Milford; and foster brother, Richey Mitto, Warsaw.
No services or calling are planned.
