Richard M. Brainerd, 45, Warsaw, died at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 19, 2010, in his home.

He was born Jan. 28, 1965, in Dearborn, Mich., to Donald Richard and Marjorie Tiseo Brainerd. On March 31, 1984, in Kewanna, he married Julia F. Johnson, who survives.

Most of his life he lived in Kosciusko and Fulton counties. He was a process engineer for Medtronic Inc., Warsaw. He graduated in 1983 from Rochester High School. He helped with Cancer Society, was a coin collector, computer guru, enjoyed the drag strip, was the best father a son could ask for, had 26 unforgettable years with his wife, Julia, and walked to the beat of his own music. He served in the U.S. Army.

Also surviving are a son, David Q. Brainerd, Warsaw; his mother, Marjorie Ludwig, Rochester; a brother, Eric (and spouse Kelly) Donaldson, Austin, Texas; and a half sister, Donna Green, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his father, who died March 22, 1991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe, chaplain of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
