Richard Lee ‘Dick’ HeldenbrandRichard Lee “Dick” Heldenbrand, of Goshen, died Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Waterford Crossing. He was 91 years old.

Richard was born June 3, 1932, in Lincoln, Neb., to Rex Raymond and Grace Fern Hutton Heldenbrand. On May 2, 1964, he married Ruth Alexandra McDaniel in Algiers, Algeria.

Richard is survived by his wife; son, Samuel (Karla) Heldenbrand, of Málaga, Spain; grandsons, Andrew Heldenbrand, of Fayetteville, Ariz.; and Derrick (Suzanna) Heldenbrand, of Tulsa, Okla.; and sister, Arla Mae (William “Bill”) McNeff, of Burnsville, Minn.

Preceding Richard in death were his parents; son, Daniel Heldenbrand; and brother, Jim Heldenbrand.

Richard received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska, a masters in civil engineering in Marseilles, France, and a masters in missions from Grace Theological Seminary. He was a missionary and engineer in Algeria, Morocco and France. He served with North Africa Mission, UFM International and Biblical Ministries Worldwide. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa.

Dick loved his Lord and he loved his wife. He was a dedicated servant of Christ, a devoted husband and he eagerly awaited the day when he could meet his Savior face-to-face.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at Pleasant View Bible Church, at 2782 W. CR 200N, Warsaw. On Thursday, June 29, another visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 10:30 at the Bible Baptist Church, 205 E. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor David Harper and Pastor Peter Gross Jr. will officiate. A private burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorial donations may be directed to Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa.
