BOURBON - Richard L. Hershberger, 55, of 4559 Ind. 110, Rochester, died at 11:55 p.m. June 28, 2009, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after complications of Multiple Myeloma.
He was born Jan. 14, 1954, in Warsaw, to Mack E. and Martha L. Clauss Hershberger.
He resided his entire life in the Bourbon and Rochester areas, and was a 1972 Triton High School graduate. He was a great hunter, enjoying hunting deer especially. He shot his last buck deer from his own front porch. He and his friend, Jerry Fisher, hunted black bear in Canada, where he was able to get his prize bear which he had in his home. He was a faithful member of Warsaw Church of God.
Surviving are his mother, Martha L. Hershberger; and several cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Hazel Clauss; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Alma Hershberger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Country Church, Ind. 331, north of Bourbon, officiated by Pastor Stephen Hargrave of Warsaw Church of God and Pastor David Gould of The Country Church. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Country Church.
