BOURBON – Richard DeVon Craig, 68, Bourbon, passed away at 1:55 a.m. Oct. 30, 2013, at his residence with family by his side.
He was born March 16, 1945, in Plymouth to James Earl and Gertrude Marie Bailey Craig. On Oct. 23, 1970, he married Susan Benedict, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area and a graduate of Bourbon High School Class of 1963. He retired in 2007 from R.R. Donnelly and Sons, Warsaw, where he worked as a pressman. He was a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church. He served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from Sept. 2, 1965 to Sept. 1, 1971. He was a member of the Bourbon American Legion, Post #424. He loved to fish, play pool, pinball and especially loved his Corvette.
Also surviving are daughter, Shawn (and spouse David) Gargis, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Brittny (and spouse Zac) Moriarty, Brogan and Briley Gargis, all of Warsaw; great-granddaughter Adalyn; two sisters, two sisters, Patricia (and spouse Norman) Cretcher, Bourbon, and Kathie McDaniel, Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elaine Cova, and two brothers, Donald and Bruce Craig.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, with the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, with military honors by the Bourbon American Legion.
Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
