Richard D. Barnes, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Nov. 27, 2010.
He was born July 3, 1929, to Charlie and Thelma Robison Barnes. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later became a lifetime member at the American Legion Post 111, Bluffton.
Surviving are his sons, Stewart (and spouse Cindy) Barnes and Mark (and spouse JoAnne) Barnes, all of Fort Wayne, and Devlin (and spouse Wendy) Barnes, Warsaw; a sister, Trudy Monroe, Berne; and grandchildren, Erica, Ross, Warren, Kenda and Christopher Barnes.
A remembrance service for both Richard and his wife, Barbara, will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at The Third Place, 1601 E. Cedar Canyons Road, Fort Wayne. A military presentation will be at 1:30 p.m.
