Apparently my "Socialist" rantings have resulted in getting Mr. Kitson's knickers in quite a twist.
Mr. Kitson found a really nice quote by Abraham Lincoln, but I fail to see the correlation between the quote and my letter. I did not advocate the destruction, weakening or discouragement of anything.
I did attempt to bring attention to the disparity and unfairness between those that make the laws and those that must suffer the consequences.
As long as the political prostitution between politicians of both parties and lobbyists on Capitol Hill is allowed to continue, and as long as the rich continue to become richer at the expense of the poor, our country will continue to deteriorate.
And we should not blindly white wash the genocide and violence in our own history by saying, "Well, everybody else did it too."
