Editor, Times-Union: Are you happy with your life?
Many people say their life is bad. Oh, you only have a 49-inch TV, your car is five years old.
What about the people who don’t even have a car, a house, food.? What about the people that work all day, every day, and only make a few dollars a week? Could you live making that little money? I don’t think I could.
I always thought my life wasn’t good. I only got 100 bucks for shoes, and another 150 for shirts and pants, and still I heard about people that don’t even have a house to go to, a meal to eat. I’m lucky to have a house to come home to, don’t have to worry about food.
For once, think about someone else. Think about how lucky you are, even if you have lost your job. Don’t you still have a house? If not we have homeless shelters. Some people haven’t even heard of those. How does that make you feel?
It would make me sick to my stomach, that we have some billionaires that live in the biggest houses in the world. How could we let that happen? Where is our government? Taxing the poor and giving to the rich? To me that’s not right. I think it’s time to change the way we do things. Five hundred billionaires, 3.7 million people homeless. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
