Claypool Elementray School sixth-grader Keagan Rice was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Space Academy in Huntsville, Ala., in June. This has been a dream of Rice's since the third grade. Rice and his family thank the following teachers for their encouragment and guidance through this entire process: Cindy Nash, Taylor Bean and John Shively, all of Claypool; Scott McClintock, Jefferson; and Dan Wray, Lakeview Middle School. “We thank you all for taking the time to inspire Keagan and in helping him pursue his dreams. It is teachers like you that make a difference in the lives of children. You should be commended,” said Amy Rice.
