NORTH MANCHESTER - Rex E. Lynch, 88, of Claypool, died at 9:37 p.m. April 28, 2010, in his residence.
He was born July 20, 1921, in Silver Lake, to Jesse F. and Doris I. Young Lynch. On March 1, 1953, he married Mary K. Merritt, who died April 4, 2009.
He was a lifelong farmer and retired in 1986 from Peabody Manufacturing Co., North Manchester, after many years of service. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a 1941 Laketon High School graduate. He was a member of Packerton United Methodist Church and a former member of South Whitley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2919, South Whitley.
Surviving are a son, Edward E. Lynch, Claypool; a daughter, Jane A. (and spouse William) Helblig, Warsaw; a sister, Nancy (and spouse Richard) Kerlin, Silver Lake; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, Silver Lake.
