The Rev. Richard Lee Bennett, 83, of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, died at 11:23 a.m. Oct. 4, 2012, in his residence. He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Wabash, to Glenn Jay and Irene Pearl Hipskind Bennett. On July 3, 1951, he married Louise Mae Drain, who died April 24, 2008. He graduated from Wabash High School, Marion College and Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Living in Kosciusko County for the past 16 years, he was a member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church and he served as a U.M. minister at a number of pastorates in Northeast Indiana. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia K. (and spouse William “Bill”) Davidson, Angola; a son, Michael D. (and spouse Nancy) Bennett, Leesburg; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma Jones, Hillsborough, and Lois (and spouse Carl) Cloud, Claypool. He also was preceded in death by four brothers. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Matthew Bock.
