Rev. Ralph Dotson

The Rev. Ralph Dobson, 80, of the Silver Lake area, died at 11:40 a.m. Aug 25, 2011, in Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born April 10, 1931, in McGuffy, Ohio, to Amos and Dolly Marshall Dobson. On July 7, 1950, in Salyersville, Ky., he married Aggie Wadkins, who died Jan. 25, 1999.

Living most of his life in the Silver Lake area, he was a pastor for 50 years and was a current pastor at Claypool Full Gospel Tabernacle. He also worked for GM, retiring in 1991. He loved the Lord above all. He compassionately spent a lifetime helping others. He adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face.

Surviving are six sons: Ralph (and spouse Laurie) Dotson Jr., Lorin (and spouse Wendy) Dotson, Jeffrey (and spouse Brenda) Dotson and Christopher “John” (Yavonna) Dotson, all of Silver Lake; David (and spouse Jane) Dotson, Sidney; and Steven (and spouse Debbie) Dotson, North Manchester; three daughters, Connie (and spouse Ken) Burton and Lisa Reed, all of North Manchester, and Pam (and spouse Raymond) Strunk, Middlebury; 28 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lenora Greene, West Palm Beach, Fla. He also was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Dotson, who died 1997; five brothers: Bill, Mitchell, Greeley, Andrew and Everett Dotson; and fours sisters: Effie Miller, Deloris Holbrook, Fannie Burke and Virginia Shepherd.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Claypool Full Gospel Tabernacle with Brothers Paul Copeland Joe Necessary officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
