The Rev. Francis Roland Rogers, 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:55 p.m. Oct. 30, 2012, in his residence at Gardens of Lake City, Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 29, 1918, in Rochester, to Raymond Roy and Ruth Lowe Rogers. On April 6, 1946, he married Betty Lou Dillman, who died in 1990. In 1991, he then married Ruth Hunter, who died in 2008.
He was at Pearl Harbor and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a 1956 graduate of the Moody Bible Institute; a 1965 graduate of Grace College, Winona Lake; and received a master’s degree from Purdue University in 1974. He was a Baptist minister in Illinois, Ohio and Rochester, as well as a farmer. He had been a resident of Kosciusko County since 1999, where he was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.
He will be lovingly remembered by three daughters: Cyndi (and spouse Allan) Parman, Wabash; Sandra Sue (and spouse David) Miller, Exeter, Calif.; and Mary Ann (and spouse John) Pugh, Michigan City, Mich.; a son, James Ray (and spouse Laurie) Rogers, Winona Lake; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nora Ella Long, Avon. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Rogers; and two sisters, Rhea Dielman and Rosella Benefiel.
Service will be at noon Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Michael Hontz. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester, with military rites by members of Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard, as well as active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
