MENTONE - Retha V. Mollenhour, 99, of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, formerly of Mentone, died at 7:34 a.m. June 19, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Miami County, to William Cloyd Kercher and Nellie Krieg. On July 24, 1937, she married Kenneth M. Mollenhour who died Oct. 20, 1994.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Mentone First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and flowers. She had lived on a farm near Palestine before moving to Mentone, where she lived in her home for 42 years.
Surviving are a son, Don Herendeen, Punta Gorda, Fla.; two grandchildren, Deborah K. Bell, Indianapolis, and Dennis A. Herendeen, Akron. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alta Hudson and Nina Working; a brother, Russell Kercher; and a son, Bob Herendeen, who died Jan. 22, 1994.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mentone First Baptist Church, 301 N. Broadway St., Mentone, with Revs. Norman McVey and Michael Wilhite officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Mentone First Baptist Church.
