I would like to congratulate Hugh Ressler on his Gold Medal in the National Senior, 80+ years, Olympic Basketball National Championship.
I played basketball for him, with him and against him. I understand why he is a gold medal winner. As a coach he pushed us to give 100 percent. As a player he was very determined, competitive and aggressive and gave his all. These qualities have continued to push him to be a winner today.
Hugh Ressler was my basketball coach in 1950 at Leiters Ford High School. He instilled in me to be the very best I could be. After only a few practices and before our first game Hugh was drafted into the military We lost a great person and our coach. I played varsity basketball four years and we were successful because of Hugh Ressler's instructions, believe in yourself, accept challenges and perform up to your ability.
We have remained friends and when we're together we do mention basketball and the memories we share together. Hugh is still enjoying the game of basketball.
Hugh I am very proud of this accomplishment and you. Continue playing this great game until you get old.
