Rep. Jim Banks Announces Service Academy AppointeesWASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) announced Wednesday the four students from Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District who have accepted appointments at U.S. Service Academies as the Class of 2023.

Among those students is Noah Marshall, a Warsaw Community HIgh School student.

Marshall is eager to attend the United States Air Force Academy later this year. At WCHS, he served as a JROTC officer, worked as a lifeguard at his local YMCA and volunteered with Baker Youth Club. He has competed as a member of Warsaw’s cross country and track teams, obtaining a varsity letter in the former. He looks forward to beginning this next chapter in his life and “helping to preserve all that is great about our nation,” he said.

Banks said, “These four young men represent the best of Indiana and the best of our country. I have no doubt that they will one day represent our communities well in their service to America as officers in the U.S. Military. Amanda and I join Hoosiers everywhere to wish Connor, Dirk, Jakob and Noah the best as they begin their patriotic service.”

The other three students include:

• Connor Davidson, a senior at Canterbury High School, will soon be a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy.

• Dirk Herschberger will be attending the United States Military Academy, following his graduation from Woodlan Junior-Senior High School.

• Jakob Jenkins is headed to the United States Naval Academy this summer. A student at Homestead High School, Jakob experienced the Academy briefly during their Summer Seminar last year and is excited to return.

Banks represents Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District and serves on the House Armed Services Committee, Committee on Veterans Affairs and Committee on Education and Labor.
