Renda Sue Adkins, age 84, of Warsaw, passed away on Aug. 29, 2026, in Claypool.
She was born on June 3, 1942, in Wharncliffe, W.Va., to Everett and Myrtle Browning Gillman.
Sue will be remembered as a woman who worked diligently throughout her life.
She was employed at Kinder Manufacturing and ABC Corp., where she worked as an industrial seamstress for many years. Her steady hands and strong work ethic reflected the care she brought not only to her profession, but also to the people around her.
She found joy in life’s simple and comforting pleasures. Sue enjoyed reading, working puzzles and watching classic movies. She especially treasured time spent babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a role that brought her deep happiness and kept her closely connected to the generations she loved so much. Her generous heart was also evident in her faithful support of Riley’s Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Most of all, Sue will be remembered by her family. She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Roger) Sarber, of Claypool; and Sandra (Phillip) Anders, of Warsaw; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce (Jay) Newsome, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and Donna Wadkins, of Warsaw; as well as her brother, Bill (Donna) Gillman, of Mentone. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, William (Kenny, Bill) Adkins and Robert (Bobby) Adkins; two grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Sue’s life was marked by devotion to family, hard work and the quiet joys that make a life meaningful. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. A graveside service will be held in the near future at Mentone Cemetery in Mentone. Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw has been entrusted with the care of Sue.
