    Edgewood Middle School, Warsaw, was recently designated by the Indiana Department of Education as a four-star school.

The honor was the third time in the last nine years that Edgewood achieved this status, said Jerry Chabot, principal.

    Army National Guard Pvt. Michael W. Houtz, son of James W. and Penny L. Houtz, Warsaw, has completed One Station Unit Training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga.

OUST is a 12-week period which combines basic combat training and advanced individual training.

January 24 1959

    Congratulations to Martha Jane Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Hall, Bourbon, who had been named the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow at Bourbon High School. Martha made the highest score in a 50-minute written examination on homemaking knowledge and attitudes. Her paper will next be judged in competition with other Indiana high school winners.

    A newly-composed band march written by Prof. B.O. Worrell, of Warsaw, will be played for the first time Friday at the noon half-hour program of WTMJ, Milwaukee, by Heiney and His Grenadier orchestra. Name of the new composition is "Leaderkranz."
