    To promote reading, Jefferson Elementary held a reading incentive program tied to the coming millennium. The school's goal was to read for 2000 hours, and if the goal was met, Principal Dennis Duncan would become a human ice cream sundae (with all the toppings).

    Lori Miller, a totally blind fourth-grade student at Madison Elementary, is learning to use the computer, along with other students in the Warsaw Schools.

She has a special computer, however, an Apple with a voice synthesizer. She is currently taught computer skills by Kim McKinstry, a blind teacher from the Allen County League for the Blind.

    Coach John Stauffer today listed seven most-likely candidates for the five starting berths on the Warsaw High School basketball team when the Tigers open their 1959-60 season at Nappanee.

The coach listed the following seven boys as the leading candidates: Dave Delp, 6-1, Tom Knoop, 6-1, and John Cook, 6-2, at the forwards. Darrell Phillips, 6-3-1/2, at center. Jim Aker, 5-7, Bill Grow, 5-11, and Les Konkle, 5-10, as guards.

    Dr. C. B. Croxall, of this city, spoke recently at the Etna Green mid-winter Epworth League institute of the Bourbon district, giving a very splendid talk on "The Minister's Relation to Young People." Registration at the institute reached 59, including members of the league from Bourbon, Etna Green, Inwood and Tippecanoe.
