Paige Whetstone is Edgewood Middle School's eighth-grade artist for the 1992-93 school year. Work from outstanding student artists is selected each year and displayed near the school office as part of the Edgewood gallery.
Kosciusko Community Hospital had to come from behind but managed a 20-19 thriller over Dee-Dee's Corner in Women's Industrial Softball League play Tuesday. Bonnie Rosdil knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning. Winning pitcher Lisa Clifford was 4-for-5 from the plate, as was Cheryl Phillips, while Karen Stewart was 4-for-4. LuAnn White paced the losers with a 4-for-5 effort.
It was learned today that Gordon Vanator, of the Claypool 4-H Club, has been selected as the district representative to attend the 4-H Congress held in Chicago the latter part of November. The trip was awarded at the state fair for his achievement in club work.
Rev. A. Christie Brown yesterday received a birthday greeting message from his daughter, Mrs. Fred H. Hope, at Cameroon, West Africa, by radio. The message was relayed from Paris and picked up by a radio relay league station at Park Ridge, Ill., and forwarded to him at Winona Lake. The message must have traveled upwards of 12,000 miles. Mr. and Mrs. Hope are missionaries in Africa.
