    It seems Warsaw police chief Craig Allebach had a little trouble with a driving training course given earlier this week. The course, called Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, or EVOC, put officers through a battery of driving skills test. As we hear it, Allebach gave an A+ demonstration of exactly what not to do. Instructor Steve Brown said Allebach swerved off the roadway and spun the training vehicle around three times, nearly rolling the car over. Brown threatened to make the chief turn in his keys for a while.

    After serving for 47 years as librarian in the Milford Library, Mrs. Charles (Dorthea) Kerlin is retiring effective Dec. 31.

Mrs. Kerlin has seen many changes in the library over the years and four years ago saw the completion of a separate children's library named the Dorthea Grove Kerlin Children's Library in her honor.

    County fair officials reportedly put the clamps on the carnival girlie show right off the bat, refusing to let it open.

September 5 1923

    A fine electric light system is now being installed in Atwood. Eight residences have already been wired, also the Methodist Church, the Home Mutual Telephone offices, Marsh and Bradway store and Kring's Harness and Shoe Repair shop. Two street lights have been placed and plans made for about eight more.
