    An area family on their way to church Sunday discovered some huge puffballs. Brian Jackson, 12, and his brother, Jamie, 7, spotted the fungi on CR 700S south of Burket while riding in their parents' car. The bigger plant weighed 5 pounds and was 38 inches in circumference.

    Beth Hagg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hagg, Rt. 6, Warsaw, has been selected as a member of the Campus Chorale, singing group at Anderson College, Anderson.

A freshman majoring in sociology, she graduated in May 1977, from Warsaw Community High School where she was a member of the choir for three years.

September 30 1952

    A Warsaw man informed The Times-Union that he saw what appeared to be "flying saucers" at approximately 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon.

Lloyd Regenos, 223 W. Jefferson St., said approximately 12 to 15 "saucers" were visible in the sky. He said they disappeared in a moment, but had been in plain view before soaring out of sight. "They were white and appeared to be about half as round as the moon," Regenos said.

    George M. Bowser, son of the late Judge Francis E. Bowser, was formerly admitted to the Kosciusko County bar today. He is a graduate of Indiana University and Harvard law school with degrees of A.B. and LL.B., finishing at the former place in 1924, and in the latter place in 1927. He is associated with his brother, Francis K. Bowser, in the firm of Bowser & Bowser.
