    Chad Adkins, son of Don and Diane Adkins, was named Whitko homecoming king, while Heather Kreger, daughter of Les and Elaine Kreger, was named queen. Arrick Custer, son of Jane Custer, was named Mr. Congeniality and Jackie Maggart, daughter of Gary and Sally Maggart, was named Miss Congeniality.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Staff Sgt. Richard E. Hyser, son of Wilma Clark, of South Whitley, recently received the U.S. Army Recruiter Badge with one Gold Star while assigned to the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Nashville, Tenn.

The badge represents an average of 100 percent or more of assigned missions for a consecutive six-month period, or an average of 150 percent or more for a consecutive three-month period.

    Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rarick, North Washington Street, attended a district Shriners' convention in Columbus, Ohio, over the weekend. Mr. Rarick played in the Fort Wayne Mizpah band.
