    Indianapolis Pike High School English teacher Christie Eherenman, the daughter of Warsaw's Phil and Mary Eherenman, competed in the Ironman Bud Light Endurance Triathlon in Sunapee, N.H., on Sept. 8. Eherenman completed the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2 mile run in 14 hours and 29 minutes, which was third in her age group. There were 415 entrants and 382 finished.

    Four persons with a combined 104 years of service at Arnolt Corp. were honored recently at an awards banquet.

Receiving gold wrist watches as retirement mementos were Henry C. Kinch and James A. Sarber, both of Warsaw. Pauline M. Shoemaker, of Rt. 1, Mentone, received a 25-year award, and Alice F. Evans, Warsaw, retired last year after 22 years.

    Leo Valentine, Mentone, has purchased the Mayer Grain elevator at Mentone, and assumes ownership on Sept. 4.

Harold (Macy Devon) Nelson, who has been sales representative in this area for a New Paris feed mill for the past 10 years, will manage the plant. He will be assisted by Clarence Julian and Harry Sulivan.

September 28 1925

    Jesse Mellencamp, premier golfist, knocked two golf balls for a total loss at the Culver course. The golf bloodhound failed to retrieve them but at dinner served in the Charles Shorb Palmer House Hotel Mellencamp was enjoying stewed creamed onions when he ran across a tough couple. "Gee, this gravy is fine," he said as he tried to carve it and then to his amazement found his two lost golf balls. Jesse Mellencamp, J.W. Scott, Wilbur Maish Sr., Porter Brown and Charles Ker, of Warsaw, spent three days as guests of Charles Shorb.
