    Jeremy Cox and Heidi England were honored as Homecoming King and Queen Friday night at Tippecanoe Valley High School. The pair were saluted during the Vikings 42-0 win or Oak Hill in which Cox scored a pair of touchdowns.

    Warsaw Postmaster Robert R. Douglas will receive the 1978 Postmaster-of-the-Year Award for the Central Region today from the Director Mail/Marketing Association at the Convention of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States in Atlanta,Ga.

The award is given each year to those postmasters who have exhibited a spirit of cooperation with bulk mailers and individuals, noteworthy accomplishments as a postmaster, participation in local affairs and reputable standing as a citizen in the community.

    Max Stackhouse, graduate last spring of Warsaw High School, is one of 50 football players at DePauw University now sweating through early varsity practices in preparation for the opening game Sept. 19.

Stackhouse, son of Naomi Stackhouse, Warsaw, is a freshman at DePauw and plays halfback. Last year he saw considerable action as a defensive back on Warsaw's undefeated, untied high school eleven.

September 27 1928

    George Franklin, of the Warsaw Country Club, placed sixth yesterday in the state professional amateur golf tournament at Culver. Franklin turned in a score of 76 while a 72 won the event. Franklin was paired with Wayne Rosseau, professional at Tippecanoe.
