    The team from Leesburg finished second in the 10-and-under division recently at the Plymouth Blueberry Festival 3-On-3 Roundball tourney. Team members were Wes Sheets, Mitch Overton, Scott Howard and Josh Abrams.

September 26 1980

    A representative of the Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 149, presented an award to Mark Eric Bishop for saving the life of his friend, Brian Lee Beam, following a diving accident this summer.


50 Years Ago

September 26 1955

    Mrs. Alta Koser, near Burket, has an unusual crab apple tree. Koser brought a specimen of the tree to The Times-Union newsroom recently and on the branch were ripe apples and also blossoms. Koser says she has never seen the tree bear fruit and bloom at the same time. Usually, she says it blooms in April and May and bears fruit at this time of year.

September 26 1930

    At the close of the 15th Annual Kosciusko County Fair, the American Legion grand prize, a Chevrolet coach, was awarded to Betty Fermier, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. P.G. Fermier, of Leesburg.
