    Cheryl and Norm Nellis of Warsaw were the winners of a grandfather clock presented by Keith Reinholt, of Reinholt Town Square Furniture. The prize was given away during its anniversary celebration. The clock is valued at $1,500.

September 23 1980

    Coach Bonnie Grimble spent much of this season crowing about her Warsaw Community High School girls swim team drivers, and for the last time Thursday night, the hometown fans saw why.

Junior Sherry Clyde shattered her own school record and freshman Tracy Long came up with a lifetime best to help Warsaw rip visiting Mishawaka Marian, 55-23.

September 23 1955

    Betty Griffis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Griffis, and a senior at Mentone High School, was chosen by the students of the school to represent the home town in the Mentone Egg Show queen contest to be held Sept. 21.


75 Years Ago

September 23 1930

    A practice football game between the local high school and alumni will be played next Wednesday afternoon at Beyer Field. Among the alumni players will be Thames Mauzy, Leo Helvey, Chet Bolinger, Ernest Bunting, Foster Faris, Wayne Huffer, "Humpy" Pittenger, Alden Finton and R. Sands.
