    Clyde Miller, 70, of Warsaw, discovered a gray sponge out of season. It measured nearly 4 inches, and after being rinsed, turned white.

    SYRACUSE - The highlight of the Wawasee High School homecoming came with the Warriors' 6-0 football victory over Northridge. During halftime, seniors Mark DeWitt and Tonda Yeager were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.

September 23 1956

    Fulton County's oldest citizen, Andrew Almondo Gast, of Akron, father of E.A. Gast and Robert Gast of Warsaw, celebrated his 101st birthday anniversary with members of his immediate family gathered around to help him celebrate.

Among well-wishers was his wife, Etta, 93, who hopes to celebrate the couple's 70th wedding anniversary with him Oct. 27.

    Members of the Warsaw Fire Department are looking for a good samaritan to donate a clock to the department.

"Pank" McConnell said this morning, "We have had the present clock for 12 years and now have to douse it with oil each day to make it run. We need a new clock, or the curfew may not ring tonight."
