Winners of the Green Thumb Award, which is sponsored annually by the Town and Country Garden Club of Warsaw, are Roy Hauth, Jo Ellen Hauth and Robert Eherenman.
Lucille Grimm, or rural Warsaw, was a winner in the daily drawings at the ASCS tent during the Indiana State Fair. Grimm received a copy of the 1976 Yearbook of Agriculture, "The Face of Rural America." The textbook is a visual record of farming and country living during this bicentennial year.
Four families from this community attended the first reunion of Battery "B" of the 264th Coast Artillery Battalion held at Saint Paris, Ohio. They included Mr. and Mrs. Loren Melick, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hart and Mr. and Mrs. James Davis, of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Slusher, of near Claypool. The 264th Coast Artillery battalion trained at Fort Warden, Wash., served in the Aleutian and Hurman campaigns during World War II.
Mary Rolena Poor, Karolyn Kilmer and Marian Ker, all freshmen in the school of science; Donald D. Sutherlin, freshman in the school of agriculture; and Howard Allen, junior in the school of electrical engineering, at Purdue University, won a place on the Purdue honor roll for the last semester of the last school year, according to the list of distinguished students given out today.
