    Aaron Koldyke, son of Dave and Ray Koldyke, caught a nice 3-1/2-pound large mouth bass recently in a private pond behind his home north of Warsaw. The youngster is only 5 years old and has learned to bait his hook, cast, set the hook and land his catch.

    Russ Baldwin defeated Drew Dickerson to win the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club's boys' tennis tournament recently.

Mike White finished third.

September 19 1952

    Herman Rettinger Jr., Bourbon, who won a Purdue scholarship at the state fair for vegetable judging, is enjoying a week's tour of Washington, D.C., with a group of 20 Indiana boys and girls, all outstanding in 4-H achievement. On the Bourbon vegetable judging team which placed eighth in the state contest were young Rettinger, Don Kuhn, Dick Wagoner and Irwin Lemler.

September 19 1927

    Beachwood Park at Hoffman Lake, a beautiful summer resort promoted and opened only about three or four years ago by William Person, is experiencing a great boom due to the construction of the new Yellowstone trail cement highway from Chicago. The new road passes within three blocks from the little lake with the picturesque islands. Chicago people are purchasing lots for $300 there which formerly sold for $50. Thirty-five cottages and a hotel have been constructed there.
