    Ten-year-old Whitney Stump, a fourth-grader at Akron Elementary School, was the winner of a Roadmaster bicycle from the Warsaw Dairy Queen. The bicycle was given away as part of the restaurant's 50th birthday promotion.

    Mrs. Joyce O'Brien, 20, of Silver Lake, was elected second congressional co-chairman at recent Second District Young Republican's meeting at Winamac, according to Ed Pratt, county Republican chairman.

Also elected was Phil Roy, 27, of Winona Lake, as Second Congressional District Treasurer for Young Republicans.

    Mrs. O.A.C. Teeter, of Winona Lake, was honored at the recent conference of the Brethren church held at Ashland, Ohio. She was presented with a gift in appreciation for her 26 years of service as national literature secretary of the Women's Missionary society. Teeter was re-elected to the office for the coming year.

    Gaylord Doran, Mentone, has been appointed cashier of the Bank of Seward at Burket. Mrs. Doren, who has been an instructor in schools for the past 10 years, will act as assistant cashier. Mr. Doran was formerly employed in Flint, Mich., but for the past few years has been residing in Mentone. Mrs. Doran is a sister of Ronald Hudson, Warsaw, and quite well known.
