    Two Times-Union advertising representatives were presented honors at the Hoosier State Press Association advertising conference awards competition.

Pamela Harrell was awarded first place for a Kline's advertisement in the category of "Fashion For Men, Women & Children." Bill Hays was presented a third place award for Rock Bottom Furniture advertisement in the category of "Furniture, Furnishings, Appliances or Hardware."

September 16 1979

    Annette Carty, Warsaw, was winner of a clock valued at $849, which was the first prize in Glover Furniture's anniversary sale drawing. The second prize, a full size mattress, was won by Susan Skean, Warsaw, and third prize, a table lamp, was won by Cheryl Hamman, Bourbon.

September 16 1954

    Mrs. Jerry Gerard was installed as president of the Tri Kappa active chapter at a meeting held at the city hall.

Mrs. Roger Leer, out-going president, installed Mrs. Gerard and other officers as follows: Mrs. Harry Gawthrop, vice president; Mrs. Robert Warren, recording secretary; Mrs. George Haywood, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Phil Harris, treasurer.

    V.G. Lansberry presented The Times with some fine grapes which bore evidence of the benefits derived from spraying and caring for the vines. The clusters were large and the grapes had an unusually good flavor.
