    It was a record-setting performance for the Lady Tigers in prep golf action Tuesday during a three-way match in Culver.

With wins over Culver Girls' Academy and conference foe Plymouth, the Lady Tigers set a new school record for wins in a season. By firing a 197 team score, while CGA shot 225 and Plymouth 280, the Lady Tigers improved to 13-5 on the season.

    Mark Gadson, a University of Tennessee graduate student and percussionist in the Knoxville Symphony, has been named percussion instructor at the Maryville Preparatory School of the Arts.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gadson, Warsaw, he received his bachelor of music degree in 1976 from DePauw University. He has performed professionally for several years.

    Janet Walter, Warsaw, was the winner of the baton twirling contest held Saturday at Indianapolis in connection with the state fair, making her the state champion in the senior girls' division. This makes her eligible to compete in the national baton twirling contest, which will be held Feb. 1, 1953, in St. Paul, Minn.
