    The winners of the 1990 Olde Truck Tennis Tourney at Bourbon are: champion of men's singles, Bob Stombeck, Matt Bowers runner-up; women's singles champion, Dara Stickel, Angie Higginbottom runner-up; men's doubles champions, Mitch Book and Tony McDowell, Matt Bowers and Marc Metz runners-up; women's doubles champions, Karen Workman and Sharon Jennings, Pam Wakeland and Patti Slough, runners-up; mixed doubles champions, Dave Ellis and Tamara Payne, Brian Hahn and Dara Stickel, runners-up.

September 13 1975

    Syracuse EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) recorded a first over the weekend - handling an emergency childbirth while their ambulance was en route to the hospital.

EMT's Edward Leamon and Mike Price assisted with the delivery of a seven-pound baby boy, Christopher, while Mrs. Joe (Jo Ellen) Poyser, Rt. 2, Syracuse, was being transported to McCray Memorial Hospital at Kendallville at 4 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 13). The driver of the ambulance was William Pipp, Syracuse.

    Bill Carter is enjoying a vacation at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Carter, of South High Street. He will return Sept. 20 to Miami University at Oxford, Ohio, where he will be a senior in business administration.

    Nelson Cook, Warsaw, won a medal at the boys' judging contest at the Indiana state fair for the highest individual score on judging horses. John O'Conner, Wabash, won a trip to the International Livestock Exposition at Chicago by placing among the highest three contestants from the northern part of the state.
