    Throughout the summer months, many area students participated in summer overseas programs designed as cultural learning experiences. Laura Anderson and Julie King, students at Warsaw Community High School spent six weeks in France. Kelly May, Jodi Malone, Sarah Masterson, Jennifer DeYoung, Jim Fisher, Tessa Manuel, Jennifer Kline and Linda Tollison took an 11-day trip to Italy and Greece.

Sept. 10 1972

    The Tigers, led by the one-two scoring punch of Rod Wildman and Ster Watkins, rolled to a convincing 30-0 football triumph over Bremen in the first Northern lakes Conference outing of the year for both squads.

Sept. 10 1947

    Cpl. Richard H. "Squarie" McCleary, former student manager and sports reporter for Leesburg High School, finds himself in Texas at the end of seven months of Army air service. He is flight chief at Lackland Air Base.

Sept. 10 1922

    Small watermelons were retailing in Warsaw today at five cents each. Larger melons brought from 19 to 25 cents each.
