    County Clerk N. Jean Messmore recently performed one of the duties prescribed by her job: officiating at a marriage ceremony. But she may have gone a little bit beyond the call of duty by overseeing the I-dos aboard a 22-foot boat on Tippecanoe Lake.

The happy couple was Albert Jarvis and Brenda Webb, both of South Whitley.

    Shirley Lee Ringer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Ringer, East Clark Street, has been named leader of the brass ensemble in the Tessieland Band at Texas State College for Women, Denton, Texas.

October 6 1929

    Considerable interest was caused this noon at the Warsaw postoffice when patrons said they smelled hooch in the post offices. Belief was expressed that the parcel post was being used by Warsawans to receive or send liquor. Investigation by clerks resulted in its being discovered that pawpaws were being sent by mail.
