    Contest winners at the Fall Harvest Festival at Lucerne Park include: spouse calling, Beverly and Regina Harman and Betty Parker, all of Warsaw; human frog jumping, Michael and Elizabeth Lewis and Timothy Mann; first place in pumpkin carving, Timothy Man; first place in sack race, Katie Joyner, Warsaw; liar's contest, Amy Mann, Warsaw; and pie eating, Missy Adams, South Bend.

October 5 1979

    Warsaw Community High School Tiger Band Senior Drum Major Robin Town received the top drum major award at the Kokomo Haworth High School Marching Band Invitational.

She was selected from 21 drum majors who led bands in the three classifications of schools.

October 5 1954

    John Kelley, superintendent of the Sunday school of the Presbyterian Church, presented attendance awards to Nondas, Nadene and Nancy Heitman, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Heitman, Warsaw, for their perfect attendance records of nine, eight and seven years respectively.

October 5 1929

    In honor of the fourth birthday anniversary of her son, George, Mrs. Arden Poor entertained 16 little girls and boys at a birthday party at her Winona Lake home. The guests were Norma Jean Myers, Jane and Elizabeth McConnell, Joan and Sybil Sailor, Catherine and Frank Eisenhardt, Ruth Pifer, Jimmy and John Robert Cochran, Alvin Rockhill, Robert and Allen Rasor, Junior Boyer, Eugene Pifer and George Poor.
