    Jeff Durst and Holly Hardman were crowned king and queen of Franklin College's homecoming festivities Sept. 26. Durst, the son of Denney and Teresa Durst, was sponsored by Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Hardman is from Orleans and was nominated by Pi Beta Phi sorority.

    Ball State University student Christie Eherenman, Warsaw, was recently selected as a member of the pompom cheering squad.

Christie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Eherenman, of 8 Fairlane Drive, Warsaw. She is a freshman at Ball State, majoring in education.

    Newspaper Carrier Day, a feature of National Newspaper Week, was observed in Warsaw today with the presentation of awards to Times-Union carriers who have won recognition for outstanding service during the past year.

Top honors for the past year went to Billy Deafenbaugh, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deafenbaugh, Warsaw, and Marvin Sponhour, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sponhour, Collamer. They are designated the outstanding newspaperboys of 1952 in Warsaw.

    Franklin Cole, son of Mrs. Grace L. Rowe, Warsaw, was selected for the Varsity Debate Squad of DePauw University. Cole was one of 18 men chosen from a group of about 80 contestants.

Cole was a member of last year's debate team, and was one of the Tri Alpha Debate team in high school.
