    Local resident Angela Overmeyer is one of 30 nurses recently inducted into Delta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.

The nursing honor society recognizes professional nurses who have distinguished themselves in areas of scholarships, leadership, clinical practice or research. Students must maintain a grade point average of 5.0 or above on a 6.0 scale to be eligible for the honor. Overmeyer is a senior nursing student at Purdue University.

    The first- and second-place winners of a Frisbee contest, held at Fisher Field in September, recently enjoyed breakfast as guests of the Warsaw Optimist Club when the group met at the Holiday Inn. Those receiving plaques for their agility are Sammy Rapp, Danny Witzigreuter, Matt Huffer, Blair Zykan, Rick Lowe, John Duncan, Bob Swinger and Chris Torpy. The contest was co-sponsored by Falvey's For Men store and the Optimist Club.

    Frank E. Kneeland, of four miles west of Our Town, gentleman farmer, brought into your Times-Union office a goodly-sized potato with two smaller ones growing at each end. If this peculiar spud had also grown a "bill" it would have resembled a baby duck.

    The Cruikshank Cannery took on renewed industry with the arrival of five huge carloads of pickles shipped in from Indianapolis and arriving here last night. The factory is now running full capacity in the pickle department and turning out a maximum of product in this department.
