    Warsaw Fire Chief Russell "Junior" Fifer received a plaque for his 30 years of service to the city. Fifer retired in September and a retirement open house was held Sunday to honor him.

    Winners of last week's father-son tournament at the V and B golf club are Warren Sloan and Larry Allen, low net winners; Rex and Ty Woodruff, pee-wee winners; and Tim and Amos Poe, low gross winners.

    A couple of county girls, Effie Mae Himes and Ruth Ann Nine, of North Webster, were installed last week as state officers of the Sunshine Girls, auxiliary of the Pythian Sisters lodge. In ceremonies at Indianapolis, Effie Mae became grand royal recorder and Ruth Ann became grand mystic one.

October 4 1925

    A beet weighing 12-1/2 pounds was displayed at The Times office Friday. The vegetable was raised by Nancy Walters, who also had several beets displayed at the county fair.
