Five bones of a mastodon, believed to have lived in Indiana several thousand years later than one the bones of which were uncovered near Cromwell last spring, have been found on the W.A. Hoffman farm, located southeast of Yellow Creek in the south part of Kosciusko County.

A complete jaw bone, a hip bone and shin bone are now on display at the Mentone post office and excavators will this week start a search for further remains of the historic animal.
