October 31 1996

    Warsaw Community High School Tiger's Pride Marching Band participated in Decatur's historic Callithumpian Parade.

The band received first place in Class A, and also won the captions of "Best Music," "Best Marching" and "Best General Effect."

October 31 1981

    Recently, Kim Demske, Pierceton, when leaving her home for school, heard on Fort Wayne's WOWO that the "seventh caller would win two tickets to the Beach Boys." Kim dialed the number, handed the phone to her mother Jane and said, "Here, Mom. Win the tickets." She did.

October 31 1956

    Warsaw High School debate teams beat Howe Military Academy in the first interscholastic meet.

Mark Mason and Anita Eddingfield, of the negative side, won 69-33. Diana Castaldi and July Lockwood, affirmative, won 72-51. The question was on government support of at least 90 percent parity on major agricultural products.

October 31 1931

    Velva Nelson entertained at her home on Friday evening the Grace and Grit class of the M.E. Sunday school at a masquerade party. Margaret Howard won first prize for the cleverest masked person and Garnet Keifer won the prize for guessing the amount of persons correctly.
