    A Warsaw resident unwittingly did a neighbor a favor recently. Carl Lozier and his wife were on their way to dinner when they spotted a dead cat in the road a short distance from their home. The cat was identical to the one the Loziers owned so they stopped, scooped up the unfortunate feline and returned home. Lozier carefully buried the cat in the backyard. Imagine his surprise when he went inside to wash his hands and spotted their cat sitting in the window.

    Marine Lance Corporal Jim R. Wallen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey A. Firtzgerald, of 1823 Rieder St., Warsaw, has been meritoriously promoted to his present rank while serving with the Second Marine Division, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

He received the accelerated promotion in recognition of outstanding performance, duty proficiency and demonstrated professional abilities.

    Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, Leesburg, celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Oct. 7. The well-known couple has resided in the Leesburg community and vicinity their entire lives. Mr. Miller is aged 89, and his wife is 85.

October 31 1927

    Harold E. Achor, a graduate of Atwood High School in 1925, has the leading role in a play, "The Whole Town's Talking," which was given by the dramatic club at the annual homecoming at Indiana Central College, Indianapolis, October 22.

Achor is the son of L.J. Achor, formerly of six miles west of Warsaw, and was winner of the 1925 county oratorical contest.
