    Winona Lake filled a vacant town councilman position recently with the swearing in of Bill Reneker. Reneker replaces Scott Rucker, who resigned due to work and time conflicts.

    Charles A. Ker, Rt. 7, Springhill Acres, Warsaw, and Mrs. Howard (Marion) Scott, 104 Fifth St., Winona Lake, were named Warsaw's "Man and Woman of the Year" for 1975 at the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Oct. 29.

The awards are presented annually to persons who have made substantial personal contributions to the betterment of the Great Warsaw community by The Times-Union and Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM in cooperation with the Greater Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce.

    Three Kosciusko County girls began private secretarial courses at International College in Fort Wayne on Sept. 18, according to announcement by Joseph L. Tucker Jr., vice president of the college. They are Eleanor Creighton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Creighton, Route 5, Warsaw; Sally Siders, daughter of Alice O. Siders, 1927 E. Market St.; and Beverly Hartman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Hartman, of 609 Winona Ave.

    A monster mushroom or puff ball was brought to this office on Saturday night by Alva Guy, of near Warsaw, and attracted much attention. It measured almost five feet in circumference.
