PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - John Brown, son of Lynda Brown of Warsaw, has been selected as a member of the A Cappella Singers at Ohio Valley College.
Grace College student Scott Simms, of Wooster, Ohio, decided to pop the question recently to his girl, Cathy Misner, of York, Pa. With the assistance of college officials, he formulated the question (Cathy will you marry me? I love you) on the marque of The Lamp, Grace's student union, in Winona Lake, then drove by it with her. Misner said yes and a spring wedding is planned.
David Casner, son of Elizabeth Casner, Winona Lake, has been assigned to Argentina, Newfoundland, as a flying radar technician with the early warning defense system in the far north.
About two dozen blossoms have appeared on a small cherry tree in the yard of the Rev. D.V. Williams, 914 E. Center St. The tree did not bloom last spring and consequently it yielded no fruit. The Rev. Williams believes that the tree will bear this fall. The tree also gives the appearance of obtaining new foliage this season.
