    Guess who Warsaw's Connie Rufenbarger did lunch with a week ago Friday? How about the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Rufenbarger, an activist in breast cancer awareness, was in Indianapolis as a guest of the Indianapolis Mental Health Association Sept. 25.

    Today opens the observance of "Save A Wife Week" according to a commercial news release. Paper plates are suggested for midnight snacks or TV election-viewing-snacks to save on dishwashing during the week. Other suggestions for the use of paper plates include underlinings for planters (use plates with a slick surface), use when flouring meat or use as soap dishes.

October 3 1927

    Coach George Fisher, of the Warsaw High School football team, made good his promise to his football team Saturday night in a wrestling match with Kid Roscoe, former welterweight wrestling champ. Fisher pinned Roscoe, Scandinavian wrestler, in 9-1/2 minutes.

Fisher had promised the Warsaw football team he would throw the carnival professional meeting all comers here if the team defeated Plymouth. The football team won despite great odds.
